On Friday evening took place the second screening of the film Iglú. The audience had the chance to enjoy the film and also ask some questions to its director, Diego Ruiz, in a Q&A session after the screening. Photographer Romee van de Ven was there to take some nice pictures.

Photo report: Open Air Marie Heinekenplein, Rialto and Diego Ruiz

On Thursday evening took place de second open air screening at the Marie Heinekenplein. Our visitors had the chance to enjoy the Uruguayan film Rambleras (Daniela Speranza, 2013). Also Chilean filmmaker-actor Diego Ruiz came to visit us in Rialto. Photographer Romee van de Ven was there to capture the atmosphere.

Wedsnesdaynight the first screening on the Marie Heinekenplein took place. It was a bit chilly but the comedy from Mexico (Paraiso) kept the audience warm. Photographer Mélanie Lemahieu was there to capture the night.

Photo report: Vondelpark and Yard Vibes party

On Saturday 16 of August World Cinema Amsterdam took its programme to three different locations. At the Vondelpark Open Air Theater we screened Rambleras, at the Bijlmerbios Quitte le Pouvoir followed by It's Us, and in Rialto we hosted a Caribben Night film programme + party in collaboration with Yard Vibes. Melanie Lemahieu took some amazing shots!

On Friday evening took place the opening of our Kazakhstan programme with The Owners, a very special film also included in the Official Competition. The screenwriter was interviewd after the screening by Ronald Rovers, Filmkrant editor. July Jung, director of A Girl at My Door is already in Amsterdam.
