"T & T Rocks!" is Barcelona-born director Miquel Galofré's credo, praising his current place of residence in the past years: Trinidad & Tobago. It is also the name of the company with which Galofré and his team document life in the Caribbean through various media: ranging from film, photography and documentaries to commercials, events and merchandising.

Galofré's work featured in an earlier World Cinema Amsterdam edition: in 2013 his documentary Songs of Redemption was screened, a film that focuses on music's healing power for the inmates of Jamaica's Kingston prison. In his new film, the documentary Art Connect, Galofré again demonstrates the effect art can have on the life of people in society's margins.

The film is set in Laventille, a poor region in Trinidad & Tobago where crime and lawlessness are the order of the day. Galofré connected a group of young people with poetry, painting, music and dance and gave them digital cameras to record their personal experiences. The result is an intimate heart-warming portrait of children who discover the beauty of art and see how it transforms their lives.
