Roberta MARQUES (1968, Maranguape, Brazil) graduated as a filmmaker from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, and as performance artist from Das Arts, both in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She lives and works alternately in the Netherlands and Brazil. Her films were shown at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands and the Rio International Film Festival. In Rio, she won the award for best film in the Brasil Novos Rumos section for RÂNIA, her first feature length film for which she co-wrote the screenplay.
