A beautiful, idyllic beach features on a small watercolour picture that prostitute Rosie carefully places on the wall of her shabby apartment in Jamaica's capitol Kingston. It represents hope and perspective on a better life. Her boyfriend-slash-pimp Rocksy also dreams of a better life, as the city is hectic and dangerous. With his friend Malt he devises a plan to make a lot of quick and easy money, by stealing a fancy sports car and selling the parts at a large profit. With the money life will surely improve vastly, Rocksy thinks. He needs Rosie's help though; she has to distract the car's owner while Rocksy and Malt steal it. Rosie is however dead set against their plans and this is not without consequences.

With her film, shot on location, debuting Jamaican director Mary Wells tells a subtle and universal story of people who are practically unable to escape poverty in an honest and decent way. She received several awards, for one the African Movie Academy Award for Best Diaspora Feature. Rocksy is played by well-known Jamaican actor and TV personality Christopher "Johnny" Daley.
