Rajnesh Domalpalli

Rajnesh Domalpalli comes from Hyderabad, in South India. He spent his childhood in small rural towns where his father worked as a civil engineer. An engineer by training, he decided to take up Film at Columbia University in 2001. Vanaja is not only his first feature but also his Masters thesis at Columbia Universitys Film School.
While at the Indian Institute of Technology, Rajnesh penned short stories in his spare time. One of these, The Dowry, was broadcast by BBCs World Service in 1984 and 1989. He learnt to appreciate South Indian classical music while at college.
