Biography Walter Carvalho (1947, João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazilië) studied Graphic Design at the Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial. Even as a child he was fascinated by photography as he watched the men with their mysterious black boxes taking photos. He not only became a well-known photographer, just as his older brother Vladimir he started making films. Since 1973 Carvalho, considered as an heir to the Cinema Novo, has made over 60 films, many of which were awarded at international film festivals. His film Raul: o iníco, o fim e o meio is part of the Brazilian Stories Features during World Cinema Amsterdam. |
