Biography
Djo Munga, also known under his full name Djo Tunda Wa Munga, was born and raised in Congo and studied film at the prestigious Institut National Supérieur des Arts de Spectacle et des Techniques de Diffusion in Brussels. During his study he was inspired by American and European cinema, but eventually he returned to his native country, where he hopes to use all he learned in Belgium to develop a new Congolese cinema. He has been making documentaries and television films since 2005 and made his debut as a feature filmmaker with Viva Riva! in 2010.
