Brazils economy is booming and the middle class recently increased to almost 50 percent of the population. Brazilians who enjoyed financial improvements are looking for more comfort, facilities and luxury. Upcoming events like the Olympics and Fifa World Cup are an incentive for the government to improve Rio de Janeiro’s infrastructure and safety. How do middle class Brazilians experience the changes that occurred during the pas few years? How do they look to the future? Five young Cariocas talk about living in the Cidade Maravilhosa. The film is not part of the Brazilian Stories selection, but a special screening of a film made by the young Dutch documentary filmmaker Martijn Willemen.
